I am excited to introduce you to the
Baconton Missionary Baptist Church!
Baconton
Missionary Baptist
Church like most Negro Churches of the late 1800’s answered the need of former slaves to "pick and choose their own
praying ground." In 1869 God moved upon the hearts of the Rev. W.M.
Quarterman, Deacons Julius Rogers, Joe Howell, P.M. Mciver, Flanders
Pray and Will Bacon and they along with 35 members began this church.
The Church continues to stand at the crossroads of Dunnlevie and
Talmadge roads reminding travelers that Jesus is the Way. Baconton is located
in Liberty County approximately
7 miles form Ft Stewart, Georgia(note map.) Rev.
Hermon Scott now serves the congregation as it eighteenth pastor.
The Baconton
Church family has weathered many storms over the years and today we stand boldly and say we are
enjoying a fresh move of God’s mighty power. We have experienced rapid growth over the past few
years both physically and spiritually. We have seen God answers prayer
after prayer. We rejoice at each victory as we are reminded that God is
faithful. There is no doubt in my mind that we can build a Holy Ghost
Led community of loving relationships where we daily love, follow and
model Jesus. I invite you to join us as we pray “Lord breathe fresh on
us.” If you do not know Jesus as your Savior and Lord I invite read the
following facts: 1. All have sinned and fallen short of God’s Glory
(Romans 3:23) 2. Sins Brings
Death But God has a gift of life for us (Romans
6:23) 3. God Loved us so much
that He gave His Son to die for our gift of life (Roman 5:8) 4. In order
to receive your gift of life you must believe that Jesus died for your
sins and declare that you accept Him as Savior (Romans 10:9). If you
would like to accept Jesus now please pray the following prayer: “Dear
God, I know I have sinned and I am asking for your forgiveness. I
believe Jesus died for my sins and I now accept your offer of salvation.
In Jesus name I pray. Amen. I encourage you to find a church home. If
you are in the Hinesville, Georgia area please visit one of our services
